From the southern gate of Waterleigh it is a little over 3 miles to the castle in Walt Disney World which is just one of the major local entertainment attractions.

There are over a dozen lakes and ponds here and the community reflects the beauty of it's natural environments.
Waterleigh was built over several years. The northern portion was the first built and a good portion of those homes are along the shore of Lake Hickorynut. There are two types of DR Horton homes in this section up to 4,000 square feet.
The regular DR Horton series homes and homes in the Emerald Homes series. The lakefront homes in Waterleigh are all Emerald Series homes. The primary difference is the Emerald Series homes all have barrel tile roofs and inside the finishes are a step up from the traditional DR Horton line of homes.
The Homes in Waterleighs’ southern portion are newer and closer to the nicer amenities center. There are plenty of trails, parks and dog parks scattered throughout the southern portion to keep the residents’ content.
Since there is no short term AirBnB style renting your neighbors will be your neighbors for quite some time. DR Horton also limited the number of homes one buyer could purchase to help assure the quality of life in this neighborhood.
The southern portion of Waterleigh also contains a limited number of townhomes. Shortly after commencement of the southern part of Waterleigh DR Horton began constructing all the two-story homes’ exterior out of cinderblock from the foundation to the roofline.
You will notice over time the two-story homes will remain in amazing condition and are very resilient when the winds pick up from storms passing by. Insurance is less expensive, termites are less of a threat, electric bills are lower and your home has less sound penetration from the outside. There are many reasons to consider this community.
Shopping and Dining are both within minutes of Waterleigh. Just recently a Publix Supermarket was built just outside the southern entrance and is a little over a mile away from homes in Waterleighs’ northernmost reaches. Also not far away is a Walmart Supercenter, Orlando Health Hospital, Several incredible restaurants and even a movie theater. Walt Disney property is within a 5-minute drive.
