Yes, Winter Garden Florida is a great place to live. Who am I to say this? Someone who has lived in Florida longer than many people have been alive. To be quite honest I am a little biased. After all I own WinterGardenFL.com.
Downtown Winter Garden has just about everything you could want in a downtown area. Many people will never go there but that is certainly their loss. Thousands in the Winter Garden community pass through this 1/2 mile long area every single day. Not because it is a main thoroughfare but because it is interesting. To much more so than Downtown Orlando and certainly much safer.
The downtown area is of course where the government buildings are located. The main street we consider to be the heart downtown is Plant Street. It reaches from east to west and has a sidewalk and attractions in its' middle section which divides the lanes. There is a clock tower/ pavilion fountains and a section of the West Orange Trail.
Along the sides of this Street are museums, restaurants/ bars and coffee shops. Some people just have a great meal or settle for a great place to just grab a bite, hang out and soak in that modern small town feel. Many Winter Garden residents will visit here weekly for the Winter Garden farmer's market which is the best in Central Florida and trust me, Central Florida has many of them.
The city of Winter Garden FL bristles with life during the day and evening hours just like a beautiful little town should. The many shade trees and fountains provide a great relief during the hot and humid summers between the rare afternoon showers. Perfect weather? No, but much better than freezing winters.
Not far from downtown you can even find a calming and quiet place of your own in one of the many parks. Since we have warmer winters here than most places the fall days are perfect for this. Nature lovers and bird watchers alike will enjoy the year round use of many local parks filled with migrating specials and some local wildlife. Other nature lovers find the many lakes like perhaps Lake Apopka to be their favorite places. Both are integral parts of Winter Garden's natural beauty. Many of the parks are dog friendly.
Many new families are flocking to southern Winter Garden Florida. This area is referred to as Horizon West and is where living in Winter Garden has the added benefit of being right next to one of the major theme parks, Walt Disney World. Many locals head there to work each day as their commute time is very short.
Public Schools are the most common source of education in Orange County and of course Winter Garden FL. If you are wanting to put your children in the public school setting then you will love Winter Garden.
Your timing is also great because as of 2023 many newer schools are complete or being completed. Who would have though being so close to Disney would provide the best educational setting? As usual, living in Winter Garden is amazing and the quality of life is well above the national average.
Now that you know more about our town and its' a rated lifestyle I don't need to waste time telling you about its' received awards. We want to welcome you soon to Orange County, the lad of Mickey Mouse and Winter Garden, the finest city in the Orlando area.
